This article is 4 years old

The partnership between unifi Business Club (uBC) and on-demand delivery provider, Lalamove, is a step forward to open up access to comprehensive business solutions for unifi business customers. This collaboration is expected to benefit all Klang Valley-based unifi business customers with greater business productivity.

Lalamove is joining forces with unifi Business Club (uBC) to offer its on-demand delivery solutions to unifi business customers. This strategic partnership combines Lalamove’s “Building Sustainable Businesses” and uBC’s “Let’s Grow Together” initiatives where businesses will be able to access Lalamove’s on-demand delivery solutions as part of the productivity boosters for uBC members.

Since the implementation of the Recovery Movement Control Order, SMEs have been exercising strategies to expedite the recovery of their businesses. Facebook’s recent Global State of Small Business Report has revealed that 42% of Malaysian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) had taken drastic measures to mitigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, including reducing their workforce.

According to Shen Ong, Managing Director of Lalamove Malaysia, there is an urgent need for SMEs to adopt a flexible strategy to guarantee long-term business sustainability while downsizing their operations to stay afloat.

“Retrenchment during an economic downturn can turn out to be costly in the long-run when businesses face an increase in demand. SMEs have more to gain if they adopt digital solutions to diversify their operations. Through the gig economy, they can be flexible and expand their businesses quickly when they are ready,” said Shen.

unifi helps businesses stay productive in the new digital economy by enabling access to uBC’s complete business solutions of digital marketing tools, financial solutions, and productivity boosters. By allowing businesses to leverage on unifi’s strategic partnerships, unifi business customers can expedite their recovery and play a role in contributing to the Malaysian economy.

“With uBC, our priority is to allow members easy access to complete business solutions for a wide range of business needs and challenges. We do this, by understanding the growing pains of each business and partner with industry experts, such as Lalamove, to resolve those challenges. With the addition of this scalable logistical solution under uBC, our business customers can run a more productive business by taking advantage of Lalamove’s services. We are invested in the success of our customers and we will be announcing even more partnerships in the near future for the benefit of our customers,” said Azmi Abdullah, Head of SME Segment at unifi.

The collaboration between Lalamove and uBC complements the Productivity Booster - a category of privilege for unifi Business Club members. Members will be able to access Lalamove’s estimated 10,000-strong gig workforce which includes its delivery fleet of motorcycles, cars, vans, 4x4 and lorries. Additionally, they can also expand their business reach with Lalamove’s newly launched interstate delivery service.
