Your skin and sheltered animals need your rescue this MCO

Has buying a skincare product ever been this meaningful? With Balmedy X SPCA’s new collaboration, the Purchase with a Purpose Programme, you can now help out both your skin and the furry friends of SPCA Selangor.

This pandemic has affected all lives, including animals. Animal welfare has been deeply affected as animal shelters may not be able to receive the external monetary and physical help they depend on.

Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Selangor has shared that volunteers are no longer allowed in view of the SOPs set, and the number of donations received has decreased by 50% during the pandemic. Due to the lack of resources, SPCA is barely able to support their current sheltered animals, let alone taking in more.

On the other hand, we humans are also struggling to find peace of mind amid the chaos. We often forget to take care of ourselves, including our skin. Being stuck indoors means dealing with a lack of sun exposure and bad air circulation in air-conditioned and closed environments. This results in skin issues such as dull skin, acne or eczema.

So how do these two issues combine? Balmedy identified these problems and asked SPCA to collaborate and tackle them with the launching of the “Purchase with a Purpose Programme”. Choosing between Balmedy’s Anti-cellulite Anti-age Coffee Face & Body Scrub or the Smooth & Soothe Floral Face & Body Scrub, buyers can not only pamper themselves or bless a loved one with a thoughtful gift, but also donate to help the animals of SPCA.

The proceeds collected from the sales will help to fund SPCA’s Pet Care Education Programme as well as SPCA’s Medical Fund. SPCA’s Pet Care Education Programme aims to educate the public on responsible pet care and the proper handling of animals. The Medical Fund helps in paying for the medical treatments required by injured animals from their rescue operations.
