Monsta’s ‘Mad Mecha’ is coming exclusively to The Sandbox Gaming Metaverse

This article is 3 years old

The Sandbox, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands and the leading open NFT metaverse platform, announced today that it has partnered with Monsta, producer of the highly anticipated superhero series Mechamato, to bring an exclusive gaming experience to The Sandbox gaming virtual world. Monsta’s Mad Mecha will give players the first-ever access to a rich new high-tech robotic universe in a customisable interactive experience.

Part virtual real-estate, part amusement park, The Sandbox fully embraces the idea of the metaverse as a continuous shared digital space where worlds and heroes collide to make rainbow-colored magic (think Ready Player One). Monsta jumps into the world of metaverse and joins over 165 existing partnerships including The Walking Dead, Snoop Dogg, deadmau5, Richie Hawtin, The Smurfs, Care Bears, Atari, ZEPETO, and CryptoKitties, all following The Sandbox’s vision of empowering players to create their own experiences using both original and well-known characters and worlds. In addition to the dedicated Mad Mecha experience on The Sandbox map, users will be able to create their own fan-made adventures and stories featuring characters, game items, equipment, wearables, and decorative digital assets – or just showcase the assets they own.

As a first step to bring Mad Mecha into The Sandbox metaverse, The Sandbox will give users the possibility to get pieces of virtual real estate close to Monsta’s spot in the metaverse, enabling fans and gamers to be close to their beloved brand.

The Chaotic World of Mad Mecha Debuts Globally on The Sandbox

A leading producer of kids and family content, Monsta is a Malaysian character media company known for popular icons such as Mechamato, BoBoiBoy, Papa Pipi, and Fly With Yaya. The company also owns one of the largest kids and family YouTube networks in the region, with over 18 million subscribers and 40 million unique monthly visitors on the platform. Delving into a new segment of the digital space, Monsta will enter The Sandbox with Mad Mecha, the exclusively designed world for The Sandbox. As a bonus for fans, Mad Mecha will also feature elements and characters from Monsta’s latest animated series, Mechamato, which recently released on Cartoon Network in December last year.

What Is Monsta’s Mad Mecha?

Monsta’s Mad Mecha is a newly designed game world that’s making its debut on The Sandbox. In a high-tech world populated by exiled robots, dangerous robots named ‘Mad Mechas’ roam free. Having gained a remote connection with one of them, it is now up to the player to help it survive and escape the planet by navigating dangerous robot cities and participating in the ‘Robo-Games’ at the colosseum.

Epic battles await in the ‘Quest Zone’ where players will earn parts from defeated enemy Mad Mechas and rescued friendly Mad Mechas too. Players can use the ‘Workshop’ to assemble these parts into new robot champions who will fight in the ‘Battle Zone’ player vs. player (PVP) mode.

The rich and meticulously-crafted Mad Mecha universe will exist inside The Sandbox, featuring exclusively-designed digital assets to collect, including a full line-up of unique in-game robot avatars with special fighting abilities. Various challenges are built into the game that will reward players with more items once completed. Various new assets await LAND owners with the likes of Mad Mecha assets, NPCs, buildings and props to build their own ‘Mad Mecha City’.
