AEON continues to strengthen the spirit of community cooperation

AEON CO. (M) BHD. and AEON BiG (M) SDN. BHD.  (AEON or the Company) organised the AEON Bubur Lambuk Programme with the  Community in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, fostering the spirit of  cooperation in celebrating the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri. 

The main programme started today in collaboration with Kajang Municipal Council  (MPKj) where AEON together with MPKj with the support from the local communities,  organised a cooking activity for Bubur Lambuk. The ceremony took place at the  compound of AEON BiG Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Cheras, Selangor. The Bubur  Lambuk was later distributed to about 1,200 visitors to the hypermarket. 

The AEON Bubur Lambuk Programme with the Community will continue to be  organised in stages until 24 April 2022 at AEON and AEON BiG outlets nationwide.  This programme is part of the sustainability initiative for the nation, AEON Sayap  Bagimu with the aspiration of supporting one another, sharing of sustenance and  strengthening the cooperation with the communities and AEON ecosystems. About  50 thousand containers of Bubur Lambuk will be prepared in a ‘gotong royong’ activity by AEON People and those involved, for distributions.

According to Dr. Kasuma Satria Mat Jadi, Chief Human Resources Officer cum  Director of Corporate Communications of AEON, “We are very grateful to be able to  share the sustenance with those who are always close to our hearts. We believe that  the AEON Bubur Lambuk Programme with the Community can further strengthen  the camaraderie between AEON and the local communities. This initiative is also to  manifest our appreciation for the continued support from AEON customers.”

At the same event, Malaysian AEON Foundation (MAF) contributed the purchase of  new clothes for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration to 50 children from Pertubuhan  Kebajikan Islam Peribadi Mulia, Kajang. The donation was presented by Datin  Noryahwati Mohd Noh, President of MAF. The children were thrilled to also receive  ‘Duit Raya’ from Tuan Haji Najmuddin Jemain, Yang DiPertua of MPKj. 

The event was also attended by Datuk Iskandar Sarudin, Chairman of AEON; Sheikh  Farouk Sheikh Mohamed, Head of AEON BiG; Ustaz Dr. Fairuz Mohamad, Nazir of  Bandar Tun Hussein Onn Mosque; Datuk Haji Othman Abdul Latiff, Chairman of  Surau Al Amin; Tuan Haji Kamal Sahid, Chairman of Madrasah Cheras Perdana; Dr.  Haji Mohamad Abd Manap, Chairman of Surau Al-Ansar; Azman Mohamed,  Chairman of Surau Al Fathonah; Haji Rosmidi Mat Dah, Chairman of Surau Annur  Taman Kasturi; and Haji Muzaffar Mohd Anas, Chairman of Surau As Siddiq. 

This programme is in line with AEON’s efforts in championing the United Nations  Sustainable Development Goal -16 which promotes peaceful and inclusive societies  for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective,  accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
