Ejen2u introduces one-stop agent management platform to aid SME and start-up markets

This article is 2 years old

Throughout the COVID era, the nation witnessed a rise in informal gigs, especially amongst product founders who engaged sales agents to sell and advertise their products. Sales agents can be an effective strategy to multiply sales and raise brand awareness. Based on the Quarterly Informal Economy Survey (QIES) by World  Economics, the capacity of Malaysia’s informal economy - which includes sales agents, is estimated to be 25.3% which represents  approximately $224 billion at GDP PPP levels, with 7.1 million employment opportunities that comprised 58.4% of the workforce.

Despite the adverse effect on several industries in the market, COVID-19 has proven to be a catalyst in the increase in digitisation attempts. Now more than ever, business owners and entrepreneurs have to be aligned with modernisation efforts to continue to stay relevant in the business arena.

Understanding the importance of the sales agent market space and how digitalisation can boost the sector, Ejen2u has been established to bolster access to and effectiveness of the industry. Strongly supported by subject matter experts with more than 22 years of experience in the agentship and business digitisation scene, Ejen2u is an integrated, digitalised, and data-driven platform suitable for all product founders to  increase their business productivity and profitability.

Within 2 years of the establishment of the company, Ejen2u has expanded tremendously and is trusted by more than 400 companies, with 250,000 active users, and has recorded up to RM261 million in  transactions. Through this business digitalisation that has been carefully curated to manage their agents, product’s founders can eliminate the risks and constraints in this industry while at the same time scale their business in an affordable and sustainable way.

Our journey started with only 3 members with immense effort in turning a dream into reality. Our  goal was to build an ecosystem and change this informal industry into one that is structured and formal.  Ejen2u is strengthened by Top Management experts in major areas, including software engineering, marketing, branding, mentorship  and business  digitalisation. Our team has devised the ideal tractions and planning for the company. One of the plans include congregating funding with the intention of maximising the chances of success  through rapid research, development, growth, and expansion,” stated Sheikh Ezaiddin, CEO of Ejen2u.

Sheikh Ezaiddin attributes a portion of their success to the support from the Global Accelerator Programme (GAP) which played a role in kick-starting Ejen2u’s big ideas and turning them into reality. The entity MaGIC - which powered GAP - has since consolidated with Technology Park Malaysia (TPM) to create MRANTI to make a bigger impact on the nation’s innovation ecosystem.

“They were the first organisation that  believed  in our fight and ideas.  They provided us with the opportunity to join the Global Accelerator Programme (GAP) which then became a turning point for us as more  organisations started to take notice of our value,” Sheikh Ezaiddin added.

From there, Ejen2u received pre-seed funding from Watch Tower & Friends (WTF) by MDEC  in 2019 and were recognized as a Certified Islamic Digital Economy (IDE) Compliance Start-up in the same year. In 2020, Ejen2u received further funding from a leading investment company in the Sillicon Valley - who had previously invested in start-ups that have gone on to become unicorns including Grab and Canva.

Categorised as a fast-growing technology  company, Ejen2u International has a strong track-record of constant innovation and capabilities to unlock long-term value and drive economic growth. Today,Ejen2u International is powered by 60 dedicated team members servicing more than 400 clients across various industries (F&B, Beauty, Healths, Baby-products, Fashion and many more) all over Malaysia.

Ejen2u now features a holistic ecosystem of services that address the entire chain of functions and services in this industry This includes Ejen2u’s expanded list of products and services including EjenGO, WEMAP, EjenStore, JOOAL, and EjenPay.

EjenGO focuses on product founders with less than 40 agents or master  stockists/leaders with high envisions in expanding and efficiently managing their agents. Integrated with the system is EjenStore, a platform for agents to advertise their products and reach the customers  through affiliate sharing. WEMAP, on the other hand, is a platform to support and strengthen agents and companies by arming them with comprehensive coaching and training to equip them with the knowledge needed to grow their business. JOOAL focuses on pooling the merchants into one platform, thus making it easier  for dropshippers to select the brands they wish to sell and generate extra income. There is also Ejen2u’s own payment gateway -EjenPay - which was created with the purpose of providing better choices of payment gateways for customers to choose from at a lower rate per transaction.

“We, at Ejen2u, put exponential  efforts and dedication into providing more value, the best user experience, and maintaining client happiness. We are proud of becoming a part of the success stories of our clients and hope to be the fuel that drives the businesses of our potential clients to create success stories together. With the pledge of conveying our brand promise, which includes affordability,  data integrity, and continuous support, we strive to be the best agent management system provider in Malaysia and with the aim of helping more entrepreneurs achieve their dream of becoming successful entrepreneurs,” added Sheikh Ezaiddin.
