This article is 2 years old

Daehan Rehabilitation Hospital Putrajaya, the largest rehabilitation hospital in Southeast Asia was first established in 2019. Since then, they have gained traction and recognition for setting the gold standard in helping patients stand on their feet again—in more ways than one.

Taking on a bio-psycho-social-physical-technological approach, they have an experienced Korean medical team and have ensured their therapists undergo state-of-the-art training in South Korea.

Their well-rounded team of consultant rehabilitation medicine physicians comprise Dr Nor Azira binti Ismail and Dr Aishah binti Ahmad Fauzi.

Dr Nor Azira brings with her many years of experience in various areas of rehabilitation medicine. This ranges from acute rehabilitation to rehabilitation capacity building in the community—locally and internationally.

Her passions lie in neurorehabilitation, acquired brain injury rehabilitation, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, paediatric rehabilitation, oncology rehabilitation, pain management, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. In addition, she also takes under her wing, cases of illnesses that have resulted in temporary or permanent disabilities.

Meanwhile, Dr Aishah was a rehabilitation physician and senior lecturer at the University of Malaya’s Faculty of Medicine prior to joining Daehan. In 2017, she was awarded a travel fellowship programme by the Korean Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (KARM), which sparked her interest and led to her expert training in paediatric rehabilitation.

She takes a special interest in neurorehabilitation and spinal cord injury rehabilitation for children and adults.

With such a stellar line-up of physicians with different areas of speciality paired with an intensive inpatient rehab model, Daehan’s commitment to helping patients gain and regain their independence is unwavering.

While it may be tough with patients having to put in 18 to 36 gruelling hours of rehabilitation per week—Daehan is armed with advanced technology and more importantly, passionate and disciplined individuals who are just as invested in your recovery journey.
