Expanding the fly control range in Malaysia with Lumnia Suspended

Recently, Rentokil has launched a new innovative and sustainable insect light trap in the Malaysian market to help tackle fly infestation problems faced by the food industry by attracting and containing flying insects away from their premises. 

It is the newest and biggest range of Lumnia LED insect light traps - Lumnia Suspended. This latest innovation is a ceiling-suspended insect light trap that uses LED lighting with a three years lifespan, compared to the fluorescent tube which has a 1 year lifespan only. This means Lumnia Suspended is positioned hanging instead of mounting on walls which increases the sheer effectiveness of capturing flying insects, and LED bulbs provide a great waste reduction that is more sustainable to our environment. 

Using LED completely removes the risk of having glass in fluorescent tubes that contains harmful chemicals such as mercury vapour to scatter around in food preparation areas and it can reach up to 80% further than traditional fluorescent lamps that have been proven to be highly efficient and effective, and a better catch rate all the whilst reducing energy consumption by as much as 70%. It is also built to have flies see a huge amount of light, and the light output is invisible to the human eye - giving a unique and aesthetically pleasing solution in fly control. 

Lumnia Suspended is manufactured for commercial industries and helps to combat fly infestations in places such as food processing facilities, hotels, supermarkets, warehouses, and more. It catches over 18 different types of flying insects, including the common house flies, fruit flies, small flies, and many more. It is an upgrade compared to the previous biggest unit - Lumnia Ultimate which only hangs on walls. 

With the approach to sustainability, Lumnia Suspended contributes a lower environmental footprint with several energy modes for both day and night which reduces energy consumption and benefits the environment as well. To further support this, Lumnia Suspended is a Planet-Mark-certified product that displayed 62% lower carbon emissions when compared to units containing compact fluorescent lamps.
