Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre (SKSMC) has won the Healthcare Asia Awards 2022 for ‘The Most Improved Community Hospital of the Year – Malaysia Award’ for three consecutive years.

SKSMC also bagged the ‘Private Hospital Award’ Category in the prestigious Malaysia Health and Wellness Brand Awards 2022.

The private tertiary healthcare provider distinguished itself from its competitors through these awards that aim to recognise exceptional achievements in the healthcare sector across Asia by providing high-quality, affordable, and comprehensive specialist healthcare services to its communities.

“SKSMC has received numerous prestigious awards, which are a testament to our culture of excellence, which includes highly skilled medical professionals, state-of-the-art facilities, advanced medical technology, flagship health events, and commitment to philanthropy. Innovations in Digital Medical Technologies as Drivers of SKSMC’s Success

A major part of SKSMC’s mission is to provide private tertiary healthcare services to the community they serve. Over the years, the hospital is proud to have earned a reputation as a pioneer specialist centre offering better health outcomes with healthcare innovation. 

As a pioneer, its Centres of Excellence, which include the Cancer Centre, the Hand Unit, the Heart Centre, and the Spine Centre are equipped with cutting-edge technology equipment or facilities to provide patients with healthcare innovation to ensure that they have quality treatment.

For instance, its Hand Unit is the first and only unit of its kind in Klang and its surrounding communities, and it is furnished with imaging systems and microsurgery facilities. Innovation to Promote Continuous Health Service Delivery

During the COVID-19 pandemic, SKSMC implemented online services that provide urgent and updated information and treatment to Klang and nearby communities. To enable the public to consult with an SKSMC doctor from the comfort of their own homes, the hospital introduced the Direct 2 Doctor Careline. For newly diagnosed patients, a COVID-19 monitoring programme was also implemented, along with a customised medication set delivered directly to their homes. 

Additionally, the hospital offered screenings post-COVID-19. In the event a patient experiences fatigue or weakness, the recovery screening ensures he or she doesn’t suffer from the debilitating post-Covid syndrome.

“Post-pandemic, SKSMC also set up an online store so the Klang community and members of the public can purchase medical screening packages and set up appointments with us before visiting the hospital. These initiatives contributed to the mitigation of COVID-19 spread and reduced mortality and morbidity rates in Klang,” Madam Tan elaborated.

After completing the third accreditation cycle in December 2018, the award-winning healthcare provider was accredited for the full four years of MSQH 5th Edition Standards. SKSMC’s MSQH accreditation highlights its commitment to providing high-quality healthcare.

Further, SKSMC is a member of the Malaysian Health Travel Council (MHTC) and the Association of Private Hospitals Malaysia (APHM). It is the first and only private hospital in Klang to be approved by five major insurance companies in Malaysia, including AIA, Great Eastern, PRU BSN, Allianz and Manulife.
