Focus Point Vision Care Group Sdn Bhd (Focus Point) is advocating eye health and the importance of eye health by launching 360° Advanced Primary Eye Care. This campaign aims to encourage individuals to prioritize their eye health while advocating for accessible, affordable and available eye care for Malaysians.

At Focus Point, 360° Advanced Primary Eye Care is the first line primary vision care and promotes overall eye health in patients of all ages. Under the group, there are more than 170 registered and professional Optometrists and all of them are trained to provide comprehensive ocular health assessment, refraction, contact lens fitting and more.

360° Advanced Primary Eye Care can change lives. Early detection is critically important to prevent some common eye diseases from causing vision loss or even blindness. “Improving our vision is a journey worth taking, one step at a time.” Said by Dato’ Liaw Choon Liang, President & CEO of Focus Point.

Through 360° Advanced Primary Eye Care, Focus Point’s Optometrist will go through the following with patients:

1. Eye Health History – Background, visual demand and symptom assessment to determine the needed test.

2. Colour Vision Test – Colour vision assessment to screen for colour vision deficiency.

3. Binocular Vision Test – Eye muscle testing and binocular vision functioning assessment.

4. Refractive Error Evaluation – Accurate assessment of visual acuity or power required.

5. Anterior Eye Assessment – Assessment for contact lens fitting, dry eyes and cataract.

6. Eye Pressure Measurement – A diagnostic evaluation for the detection of glaucoma.

7. Retinal Screening – Diagnostic evaluation for glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and myopic maculopathy.

8. Consultation Session – A summary to the eye tests outcome and precautions or eye care solutions needed.

Focus Point understand the importance of proper eye care and therefore they are investing in Advanced Primary Eye Care (APEC) equipment to provide patients with the ultimate eye screening experience possible. Currently, Focus Point has more than 67 APEC outlets providing 360° Advanced Primary Eye Care screening and they are expanding the numbers of outlets to be equipped with all the latest eye screening equipment.

“With our ongoing efforts and activities to educate the public on the importance of eye health and proper eye care, we remain hopeful that our 360° Advanced Primary Eye Care Campaign will be a positive step forward in ensuring that the general public is made aware of proper eye health care on a national scale.” Dato’ Liaw said. The general public are encouraged to schedule an appointment with the nearest APEC outlet and find out more details about their eye health.

Puan Nor Azizah bt Ismail, the Secretary for Malaysia Optical Council (MOC) of Ministry of Health Malaysia was presented to grace and officiate the launching ceremony together with Dato’ Liaw, Dato Joyce Yap of Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn Bhd and Mr Paul Ho of ZEISS Group. Numbers of guests and members of media were there for the launching ceremony.
