Exclusive McDDoDaDip Hoodies Snatched Up Within The Hour by Dedicated McDonald’s Fans

If you’re a Chicken McNuggets fan, you’ll know that 6 special sauces have arrived at McDonald’s for you to Do Da Dip! Alongside the new sauces, limited edition sauce-inspired #McDDoDaDip Hoodies were also given to the first 100 customers to purchase 2 boxes of 20pcs Chicken McNuggets (Ala Carte) via the Self Ordering Kiosk at selected restaurants.

On Sunday, 21st May 2023, diehard fans queued up outside McDonald’s Bukit Bintang in anticipation of the official redemption period. Some even queued up as early as 1:00am in the morning to be the first in line! Others showed up from 4:30AM onwards, and the early birds became fast friends, united in their love for McDonald’s as they camped at the start of the line.

When asked why they decided to begin queueing so early in the morning for the #McDDoDaDip Hoodies, mother-daughter duo Winni and Yih Ling from Kuala Lumpur mentioned they were really “lovin’” the unique design and that mother Winni was queueing to get the exclusive hoodie for her son.

Azman Mohammad, Marketing Director of McDonald's Malaysia shared: “We’re very excited to see such great response and anticipation for our #McDoDaDip Hoodies! To know that there are customers who are so excited to get their hands on them, queueing up in the early hours of the morning is very encouraging.”

He goes on to explain: “The #McDDoDaDip campaign is our newest effort in connecting with Malaysians in a fun and interesting way, even more so with the Gen Z community. The main attraction of this campaign is the customer-favourite Chicken McNuggets, but what makes it more interesting are the 6 types of sauces that we’ve introduced to complement the taste of Chicken McNuggets which promises a unique taste to fulfil the tastebuds of all Malaysians.”

The McDonald’s Bukit Bintang staff were also thoroughly prepared for the morning activities, as they stacked boxes of nuggets and hoodies up high at the redemption counter and swiftly managed the lines of customers at the door.

Once doors were opened at 11:00am, customers rushed inside in groups of 5 to the Self Ordering Kiosks to purchase their McNuggets and to claim their hoodies. Despite the large crowd, the staff maintained an orderly process to ensure that each customer would have a fair chance at redemption. Within 30 minutes, the exclusive 100 hoodies were fully snatched up.

Azman concluded: “The true uniqueness of this campaign lies in the creativity and style of our customer’s tastes. We know that Gen Z is the generation with the most unique personalities, and we want to celebrate this uniqueness by encouraging them to share their #McDDoDaDip moments with us on social media.”
