This article is 10 months old

Kuala Lumpur, 15 November 2023 – As the frequency and intensity of natural disasters rise on a global scale, the need for innovative solutions to enhance climate resilience has become more apparent. Leading the charge is Mobiva, a Malaysia-based tech startup, dedicated to revolutionizing disaster preparedness through cutting-edge AI-driven technologies and real-time community engagement.

Mobiva's commitment to global resilience is evident in its ground-breaking approach. Leveraging crowd-sourced mobile data, the Mobiva Citizen platform creates real-time hazard maps and critical emergency measures. This community-driven platform acts as a unified source of truth for response agencies, facilitating collaboration and resource allocation during disasters. The innovation is a testament to Mobiva's deep-rooted dedication to building more resilient communities worldwide.

The journey began in July 2020 with the launch of Mobiva's Minimum Viable Product (MVP). Since then, the startup has experienced significant growth, culminating in the championship at the ABD Hackathon in November 2020. The mission has expanded to diverse projects, from optimizing vaccine distribution in Uganda to collaborating with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to enhance resettlement outcomes.

In collaboration with UNICEF and MRANTI, Mobiva's flagship project in Malaysia emphasizes community awareness and disaster preparedness. The upcoming project in the Philippines focuses on economic growth in high-risk disaster-prone regions, providing local governments with essential data insights.

Mobiva actively engages communities through resilience and disaster preparedness workshops, digitally empowering local capacities. The commitment to "Tech for Good" is demonstrated through their relentless pursuit of positive impact.

The Global Accelerator Programme (GAP) has played a crucial role in Mobiva's growth. This program has provided valuable support in the form of guidance, mentorship, and access to a robust network of experts. This support has been instrumental in refining Mobiva's business strategy, helping them navigate challenges, and facilitating connections within the industry.

Mobiva recognizes the importance of collaboration and is actively engaged in a community awareness program in partnership with UNICEF and MRANTI in Malaysia. The primary goal of this initiative is to enhance disaster awareness and preparedness among local communities. By focusing on community engagement, Mobiva aims to empower children and mobilize communities for positive change, contributing to increased resilience and preparedness.

Mobiva envisions a future where innovative technology, community engagement, and the power of data play transformative roles in disaster management. The startup is not only committed to developing and implementing cutting-edge solutions but also actively seeks partnerships with international funders and impact investors who share their vision. This collaborative approach aims to fortify climate resilience in vulnerable communities, demonstrating Mobiva's dedication to making a positive and lasting impact on a global scale.
