Empowering Change: Reflecting on Imperium International College's 'We Rise Together' SDG Workshop

Imperium International College recently hosted a transformative Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) workshop, titled 'We Rise Together', on October 31st, 2023. This event brought together students, educators, and solution providers to delve into the world of SDGs and explore actionable strategies for global change. With an impressive lineup of speakers and a diverse range of workshops, the event was an inspiring journey towards a brighter, more sustainable future.

The highlight of the event was the presence of Ms. Shalin Zukkifli, a prominent Malaysian bowler and the Head of Athlete Career & Education Secretariat (MACE). Her expertise and inspirational message resonated with the audience, emphasizing the importance of individual and collective efforts towards achieving sustainable development goals.

With the participation of esteemed schools such as SMK Cochrane, SMK St Gabriel, SMK Miharja, SMK Yaacob Latif, and SMK Cheras, the event fostered collaboration and a shared commitment to positive change. The students actively engaged in discussions and workshops, gaining hands-on experience in impactful projects presented by solution providers.

The event saw the active involvement of several esteemed solution providers, partners of APPGM-SDG, who conducted workshops on various crucial topics. From permaculture-soil painting to plastic recycling, communication skills to glass craft, and even calculating water usage to making soap using used oil, attendees had the opportunity to learn and contribute to actionable solutions for a sustainable future.

The success of the event was further enhanced by the support of key partners, including the Association of Social Services and Community Development, The Blue Ribbon Global, Pavilius Legacy Skills and Training Centre, Impact Revolution Enterprise, Persatuan Pendidikan dan Kebajikan Jaringan Nelayan Pantai Malaysia (JARING), Mypure Herbs, and GEC. Their valuable contributions ensured a diverse and enriching experience for all participants.
