SMK Dato' Biji Wangsa as Kelantan Representative at Toyota Eco Youth 2023/2024 Competition

KELANTAN – Eco B’Wangsa the team from SMK Dato’ Biji Wangsa, Kelantan is taking part in the national level competition of Toyota Eco Youth 2023/2024. Toyota Eco Youth is a programme by UMW Toyota Motor in collaboration with the Ministry of Education to create awareness of environmental issues within the youth in secondary schools. 

Recently, Eco B’Wangsa has successfully organised a beach cleanup day at Pantai Genting, Tumpat in Kelantan. The team managed to group more than 150 students from 10 different schools for the event where they collected almost 1,700kg of garbage along the beach. The team continued their programme by creating awareness among the visitors to the beach. As part of their initiative to keep the beach clean, they handed out plastic bags for the visitors to pack their garbage and dispose of it in a proper way. The team with support from the local council has also built an area where the garbage can be disposed of properly. The team members of Eco B’Wangsa will continue to preserve the cleanliness of Pantai Genting by collaborating more closely with the local council and to continue educating the visitors, especially the youngsters on how important it is for them to look after their environment. 

The team will display their project details at the exhibition of Toyota Eco Youth on the 21 – 23 January 2024 in Putrajaya. The champion at Toyota Eco Youth to take home the amount of RM30,000!
