After 3 years in operation, over 20,000 registrations, and over 550,000 hours of clinical jobs booked on their app, WeAssist Sdn Bhd has launched its new and improved Locum Apps. The new platform now improves the experience for healthcare providers to look for qualified and experienced locum staff to fill up vacancies.

Locum Apps unveiled its new app interface in a launch ceremony officiated by (from L-R) , Jasmine Lau, CEO of Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre; Tiffany Khoo, CEO of WeAssist; and Dr David Khoo, Chairman and GMD of iHEAL Health.

WeAssist’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Tiffany Khoo, shared that WeAssist Sdn Bhd is using Locum Apps to redefine the healthcare sector while leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless individuals. Recently, the company achieved a significant milestone, surpassing RM11 million in transactions and launched their new mobile application. By streamlining features from two separate apps into one integrated mobile application, the platform encompasses a profound transformation of the healthcare workforce and community alike.

Representatives from various healthcare institutions such as BTMC, CVSKL, PCMC and ADMC attended the event.

The afternoon launch kicked off a promising start to 2024 for Locum Apps and not only showcased the technological evolution of Locum Apps but also celebrated a profound transformation in healthcare staffing. The event saw attendees from different healthcare facilities as well as dozens of clinical staff who use Locum Apps to take on additional jobs.

Addressing the pillars of the healthcare community, Tiffany Khoo emphasized the significance of choices made in staffing, extending beyond institutional walls to touch lives, shape careers, and impact communities.

"Every time you choose to book a locum staff through Locum Apps, you're not just filling a position. You're making a deliberate choice to welcome someone who isn't only qualified but also dedicated to serving patients with compassion and expertise. You're choosing to uphold the standards of care and professionalism," stated Khoo.

Khoo further urged the audience to recognize the profound impact of their choices by sharing stories of individuals whose lives were transformed through the platform: "Each booking you make is an opportunity to change a life, to support a nurse like Sarah, who is a single mom, and full-time employment just doesn’t work for her. You’re choosing to support a healthcare professional like Ikmal, who was able to pay off his debts by taking on additional work, and is now able to pursue further studies."

Tiffany Khoo shared her enthusiasm at the unveiling of Locum Apps’ new interface.

Expressing her joy at the launch of the new app, Khoo remarked, "Every time we had an opportunity to improve something, we kept finding new ways to make it even better."

In this new mobile application, Locum Apps is introducing features such as multi-shift bookings, health declarations for locum staff, role-based access controls with sub-user accounts, new and improved matching algorithm powered by AI, and easy ways for hospitals and clinics to book their preferred staff.

WeAssist Sdn Bhd's journey is marked by its vision, determination, and a commitment to self-sufficiency, sustainability, and efficiency. The company's bootstrap philosophy, avoiding early fundraising, allowed them to secure market share before seeking investment, showcasing their belief in the product's potential and fostering creativity in marketing and business growth.

As Locum Apps continues to evolve, with a complete update offering new features and accessibility throughout Malaysia, Khoo thanked the audience for being champions of quality care.

Among the highlights of the launch ceremony were the announcements of the Health Expert Awards winners. iGLOW Sdn Bhd emerged victorious in the Best Hi-Tech Healthcare category, with Dr. Eddy Chiew Kui Ann, the General Manager, proudly receiving the prestigious accolade. The Excellence in Healthcare CSR Award 2022 found its deserving recipient in Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre (BTMC), represented by the dynamic Ms. Jasmine Lau. Lastly, the Top Healthcare Management Award 2022 was bestowed upon the Mental Illness Awareness & Support Association (MIASA), with Ms. Anita Abu Bakar, the Founder, stepping onto the stage to receive the distinguished honour.
