A strategic collaboration in the development of sustainable and hybrid portfolios for Sipitang Smart Leisure City

This article is 8 months old

Most of today’s conventional architecture and property designs fail to meet the needs of future urbanisation that is evolving in the next few years. The future of urban architecture is adaptable, hybrid, interchangeable and multi-functional. Urban real estate planning should adapt to hybrid approaches that includes developing multi-functional adaptable buildings, reconfigurable offices setting, and flexible retail space in our effort to reducing material waste that might otherwise be dump at landfills in times of remodelling needs. With a people-centric orientation, the properties of the future will transform into a markedly different structure offering a wide range of characteristics for intended conversion needs.

For buildings design to become more flexible and adaptable, technological innovation on reinventing is needed to cater to a cradle-to-cradle economy. Other pressing issues such as land use, environmental degradation, consumption of energy and resources and the legislative landscape around climate change must be considered in restoring and safeguarding the health and well-being of the environment and communities.

The new norm today has provided us the opportunity to participate in the areas of sustainable development, retrofitting, reconfiguration, restoration, preservation and in regenerating a historic transformation of business-as-usual mindset to an order that includes disaster risk reduction, property salvaging threshold, alternative manufacturing processes, reengineered products design, enhance durability, bridging the income inequality gap, and promote inclusivity in our society, and there’s so much more we could do.
