Malaysia to Host Asia Pacific Predator League 2025

Malaysia is set the take centre stage as the host of the next Asia Pacific Predator League (APAC Predator League) which will be held in 2025, affirming Acer's commitment to nurturing the gaming community in the country. The announcement was made at the recently concluded fifth APAC Predator League in Manila where Acer Malaysia Managing Director Kon Tek Yoong received the Predator League pennant from Sue Ong-Lim, General Manager of Acer Philippines.

“Gaming is undoubtedly a bona fide global phenomenon; the industry is tipped to cross US$320 billion by 2026. We feel incredibly honoured to have the opportunity to host the next edition of the APAC Predator League. This tournament is one of the ways we can support Malaysia’s ambition of becoming a hub for eSports in Southeast Asia as it will feature players and teams from across Pan Asia Pacific. We will do our utmost best to show the region what Malaysian hospitality has to offer the gaming community and hope to inspire more local talents who aspire to join the industry,” said Kon.

Regional qualifiers for the APAC Predator League are scheduled to begin later this year,with the showpiece event slated for the first quarter of 2025.

APAC Predator League 2024 in Manila, the Philippines

Over 15,000 spectators attended the grand finals of the APAC Predator League 2024 to witness their favourite teams battle it out for supremacy. Home crowd favourites Blacklist International and Team Secret emerged victors for Dota 2 and Valorant respectively in the recently concluded edition of the tournament held in the Mall of Asia Arena, Manila, the Philippines. In addition to the Predator Shield, both teams took home US$65,000 each.

Runners-up for Dota 2 were Exacration and their Valorant counterparts were Japanese squad FAV gaming. They each received US$20,000 for their valiant effort.

In addition to the team awards, Intel MVP Awards were bestowed to outstanding players for their performance during the competition. The Dota 2 MVP was Blacklist International’s carry player Polo "Raven" Fausto, while Team Secret’s Jeremy "Jremy" Cabrera received the nod for Valorant. These two players received an additional US$10,000 each as well as the Intel MVP Award Trophy.
