This article is 6 months old

In a collaborative effort to combat heart disease and support underprivileged heart patients, the IJN Foundation and Captain Oats have joined forces in an impactful campaign. Titled "IJN Foundation - Captain Oats: We Love, We Care Programme”, this initiative aims to provide financial aid to needy heart patients for their medical treatments. With heart disease persisting as the leading cause of mortality in our country, this campaign endeavours to raise awareness about heart health and promote healthier dietary practices, leveraging on the benefits of oats.

The IJN Foundation is a charitable organisation dedicated to assisting underprivileged heart patients. Since its inception in 1995, the foundation has diligently pursued its mission through various programs such as the Patient Assistance Program, Research and Clinical Studies, and Educational and Training Programs. With tax-exempt status, the foundation remains committed to its objectives of alleviating the burdens of heart disease on individuals and communities.

Captain Oatsstands as the sole oat milling factory in South-East Asia equipped with automated machinery and comprehensive facilities for producing the finest quality of oats  for human consumption. With an extensive reach spanning over 35 countries across South-East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and China, the company has solidified its position as a leading supplier of oats globally.

The primary objective of the campaign is to provide financial assistance to impoverished heart patients seeking medical treatments at the Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) through the IJN Foundation (IJNF). IJNF welcomes contributions from corporates and individuals to support the on-going needs of surgery and treatment costs of deserving heart patients. The unwavering support and generous contribution from Captain  Oats are instrumental in ensuring that financial aid is available when needed.

Captain Oats’initiative to promote and encourage heart patients to consume oats is commendable. It aims to encourage healthier dietary practices and lifestyles among those diagnosed with heart disease, as well as serve as a preventive measure towards better health.

Hearty Packs Distribution:

As part of the campaign, Hearty Packs containing Captain Oatmeal packets and stress balls are distributed to patients undergoing treatment at IJN. These packs not only provide nourishment but also serve as a tangible reminder of the importance of adopting healthier dietary habits for better heart health. The campaign aims to empower individuals to take control of their heart health.

Educational and Community Outreach:

Through various channels, including informational materials and online platforms, the campaign disseminates knowledge about the benefits of a plant-based diet rich in oatmeal. Research has shown that incorporating oatmeal into one's diet can significantly contribute to heart health by reducing LDL (bad cholesterol), lowering blood pressure, and providing essential antioxidants.

In conclusion, the partnership between the IJN Foundation and Captain  Oatsrepresents a proactive and impactful approach to addressing the challenges posed by heart disease. By combining resources, expertise, and outreach efforts, the campaign strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by heart disease, emphasising the importance of collaboration in promoting health and well-being.
