30 Years of Impact: Maaedicare Charitable Foundation Announces Health for Humanity Fundraiser Ball 2024 to Support Kidney and Heart Patients in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, JULY 15, 2024 - Maaedicare Charitable Foundation, a prominent NGO headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, devoted to supporting kidney patients and advancing health awareness, is marking its 30th anniversary with a groundbreaking fundraiser.

Titled "Health for Humanity Fundraiser Ball 2024 - 30th Anniversary,” the event seeks to raise essential funds to increase its services and strengthen support for kidney and heart patients throughout Malaysia.

The prestigious Fundraiser will be graced by Her Highness Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz Binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Tunku Temenggong Kedah.

Established 30 years ago, Maaedicare Charitable Foundation has played a pivotal role in offering subsidised dialysis treatments across its 11 dialysis centres in the country. Serving more than 32,000 patients, the Foundation also runs a Cardiac Diagnostic Centre, as well as provides complimentary medical screenings to encourage early prevention of kidney and heart diseases through its two Klinik Amal Percuma.

Yang Mulia Tunku Dato’ Yaacob Khyra, Chairman of Maaedicare Charitable Foundation said funds raised during the evening, would assist Maaedicare strengthen its medical facilities and provide essential renal care to its 800 dialysis patients, effectively. Ultimately, he added that the Fundraiser seeks to foster a healthier future by bridging gaps in medical services and uplifting the quality of healthcare across the country.

Tunku Dato’ Yaacob emphasised deep concern regarding the accessibility of healthcare services, particularly underscoring the challenges of inadequate access to essential medication and treatment in Malaysia.

“Access to basic healthcare is a fundamental human right. Our commitment to accessible healthcare remains resolute. At Maaedicare, we firmly believe healthcare is a fundamental right for all individuals, regardless of their circumstances,” he stated.

Ms. Anne Rajasaikaran, Chief Executive Officer of Maaedicare Charitable Foundation and Chairperson for Health for Humanity Fundraiser Ball 2024, said Maaedicare is proud to mark three decades of dedicated service to the underprivileged communities in Malaysia.
