COMMENT | Choose a transparent middle path over CMCO
COMMENT | This statement is in response to the government’s decision to expand the conditional movement control order (MCO) to include most of Peninsular Malaysia from Nov 9 until Dec 6.
This is in addition to the nationwide recovery MCO already in place until year-end.
We have learned from the last nine months that an MCO is effective in controlling the spread of Covid-19 and allowing time to conduct contact tracing while ensuring that the health system is not overwhelmed.
The Health Ministry (MOH) has managed the latter with great success, and the rakyat has learned to take on the collective responsibility of breaking the chain of transmission.
