COMMENT | Malaysia’s never-ending Merdeka agenda

COMMENT | Very soon, we Malaysians will be celebrating the 66th anniversary of the Independence of Malaya from our former colonial masters.

That was before Malaysia was officially formed in September 1963.

As an independent nation, Malaysia needed to chart its way forward to bring about development in various spheres, mainly socio-economic development.

We were on an upward trajectory in such development until progress was stymied and negated by problems created by corruption and kleptocracy, which exacerbated issues stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic.
