LETTER | Water pollution and supply disruptions have just gone too far
LETTER | This is ridiculously insane. How many times have consumers been left high and dry with sudden, and frequent, water supply disruptions?
It is equally frightening to know that polluting our water sources with dangerous toxins is happening all too often, and right under the eyes of the lawmakers and enforcers.
Despite netizens raising the alarm bells time and time again, we continue to hear the same rubbish: "We are doing all we can."
People are thinking aloud and asking: "Is the country's security framework so weak that anyone can just dump pollutants and poison our water sources so easily?"
Others begin to question: "What guarantee is there that millions of households are not being poisoned slowly over time, given the detections by the authorities after the poisons have flowed into homes and hospitals?"
Or has the greedy political clawing for good money even penetrated our water business so much so that there is talk of some hidden hands wanting to take over the revenue from water treatment and supply in the country, especially in Selangor?
What is going on, dear parliamentarians? If we cannot even be free from poisoning and disrupting a fundamental right of citizens - safe, clean uninterrupted supply of water, how can you even proclaim that only you, the government, can save our nation?\
