LETTER | Selective efficiency of the police

This article is 4 years old

LETTER | We must congratulate the IGP and the Malaysian police for their super-efficiency in capturing the culprits suspected of killing the Mardi researcher.

Considering that the robbery cum murder happened in the dark of night, the ability of the police to pin down the potential culprits within hours is most heartening.

This leaves us wondering how the police were not able to identify or arrest any potential culprits in the disappearance of the preacher in Perlis in broad daylight.

More so in the case of Pastor Raymond Koh with a closed-circuit television camera capturing a clear view of the vehicles and the culprits even filming the event.

Caught on tape were the cars, vans and a person being kidnapped in broad daylight and who later disappeared completely for months and months.

No news, nothing.

More intriguing is the case of the man who can disappear completely with a daughter for years and years with the police still scratching their heads.

I suppose the police only swing into force when criminal acts are committed in the dark but become completely incapable when criminal acts occur in broad daylight?

Or is there a different modus operandi for different police operations?
