LETTER | The role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has intensified in the modern era. In the education sector, it plays a pivotal role in helping students improve their academic performance, whether at school or university. It not only provides numerous benefits to students but also to teachers.

Therefore, teachers and students must come to terms with the fact that they should embrace AI. AI can help teachers prepare lessons that cater to the needs of their students.

Each student has different levels of intelligence, and AI can assist those who fall behind. It can also identify students who struggle in certain subjects, such as Mathematics, English Language, Sciences, and many more and provide appropriate methods to support their learning.

Teachers can also provide additional materials to help students achieve the best results. Students can be more self-reliant instead of solely relying on their teachers. They can use AI for revision if they struggle to understand what their teachers teach in class.

Significant repercussions

Some theories are complex and challenging for students to comprehend without additional examples and applications. However, with the advent of AI, students can be provided with a vast array of examples and detailed explanations to improve their understanding of the theories.

Certain subjects, like Mathematics, require students to do a lot of exercises to master the concepts. However, the exercises provided in textbooks may be limited, so they can access a wide range of exercises using AI at their fingertips.

AI can offer various learning methods, and thus, students can develop an interest in learning. Consequently, they are less likely to give up easily when they encounter difficulties in understanding something.

AI can also assist teachers in grading their students quickly and efficiently, virtually eliminating the possibility of making errors and mistakes.

Teachers can provide detailed comments and feedback to their students as AI can pinpoint areas where they are struggling and provide specific insights.

As a result, students can immediately improve their understanding of the topic without any delay.

Notwithstanding the benefits that AI can offer, it is worth noting that the misuse of AI can have significant repercussions for students and society.

Therefore, teachers and parents should always keep tabs on students while they are using AI.
