Housewife disappointed over rejection of home loan 15 times
A housewife who gatecrashed a press conference at the launch of FundMyHome-DepositKu Scheme today got the attention of the Minister of Housing and Local Government Zuraida Kamaruddin.
Hafiza Abdul Rahman, 34, expressed her sadness saying she had applied for a housing loan 15 times over the last 10 years, but her application was always rejected.
After the press conference, the mother of the four was seen expressing her sadness to Zuraida, and several times embraced the minister with tears streaming from her eyes.
"The house we want to buy is below RM100,000 and we can deposit up to RM20,000.
“Why am I and my husband treated like this? We are just ordinary people who want to have our own home. All this time we have been renting,” she said when met by reporters.
Hafiza thinks her family’s right, belonging to the B40 category group with her husband’s income of only RM3,000 a month, has been denied.
She expressed her appreciation to the Pakatan Harapan government for introducing the FundMyHome and FundMyHome-DepositKu schemes, saying she would apply for the scheme in the near future.
At the ceremony today Zuraida handed over keys to 19 home buyers under the FundMyHome scheme in Semenyih.
The FundMyHome platform was launched by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad in November last year to assist first time home buyers.
