PM agrees to 'visa on arrival' proposal for Langkawi
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has in principle agreed to the implementation of the visa on arrival (VOA) in Langkawi, said Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi.
"I have discussed with Dr Mahathir on the VOA for Langkawi and he agreed. After this, I’ll write a letter on the proposal to Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin,” he told reporters after launching the SFT3 Special Tourism Fund in Langkawi today.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry deputy secretary-general Haslina Abdul Hamid, who was also present, said the ministry had held a series of discussions with the Home Ministry on the matter.
“So far, the response has been positive,” she added.
