Exco reshuffle by end of the week, says Johor MB
The Johor executive council is expected to be revamped by the end of the week, Menteri Besar Dr Sahruddin Jamal said today.
"As I said, I will choose an executive council that I am comfortable working with," he told reporters in Kota Iskandar, adding that the lineup is being fine-tuned.
"Insya Allah, we will see the names (new list). I will announce it later, we still need to look into it.
"Insya Allah, (the announcement will be made) in a few days before next week,"
Sahruddin, who is also the Bukit Kepong assemblyperson, confirmed that no portfolios would be added to the existing 11, including his own.
He was responding to a question on whether any exco would be dropped and new members added to the lineup.
Yesterday, it was reported that the new lineup would see two excos being dropped – namely Mazlan Bujang, the public works, infrastructure and transport committee chairperson, and Tan Hong Pin, who heads the local government, science and technology committee.
Mazlan is the Puteri Wangsa assemblyperson from Bersatu and Tan, the Skudai assemblyperson from DAP.
Sahruddin was sworn in as the 17th Johor menteri besar on Sunday.
