Car stolen from Narcotics CID chief found in Teluk Intan
Narcotics CID director Mohmad Salleh’s official car has been found abandoned in Teluk Intan, Perak, four days after it was reported stolen in Kajang, Selangor.
Selangor CID chief Fadzil Ahmat said a Perak Hilir CID team had found the black Toyota Vellfire parked behind a building in Taman Melor Sejati @ Sejati Waterfront at 5pm yesterday.
"The car has been taken to the Hilir Perak district police headquarters for further investigation,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, Perak police chief Razarudin Husain, when contacted by Bernama, said the car had been left there for some time but was not disturbed by anyone.
He believed that the thief had abandoned the car after news of its theft went viral on social media.
"It is now at the Hilir Perak district police headquarters, and we have lifted some fingerprints from the car for analysis by the forensic department.
"We also found that the car had been fixed with a false number plate but nothing of value, including the audio system, was taken from the car,” he said.
Razarudin said police are intensifying their hunt for the suspect or suspects in the case.
