Decision on Jasin election petition on June 12
The Election Court in Malacca has set June 12 to deliver its decision on the election petition for the Jasin parliamentary seat at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
Counsel Muniandy Vestanathan, representing Pakatan Harapan's candidate in the 14th general election Khairuddin Abu Hassan, said the hearing of the petition at the Election Court ended yesterday.
“A total of 44 witnesses were called to testify during the hearing.
"Now pending submission and decision,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.
On March 6, the Election Court rejected the objection of Jasin MP Ahmad Hamzah to strike out the election petition, and fixed full trial to commence on March 11.
In his petition, Khairuddin named Ahmad as the first respondent, returning officer Zamrud Yahya as the second respondent, and the Election Commission as the third respondent.
