Leader who allegedly threatened cop uncontactable - Pahang DAP
Pahang DAP today said it has been unable to reach Jerantut DAP chief Loo Why Leong, who was arrested after he allegedly used his position to threaten the police.
Pahang DAP secretary Lee Chin Chen (above) stressed the rule of law and anyone who breaches the law must be punished.
"We have been unable to contact Loo since yesterday evening until now. Based on his previous statement, he had denied threatening a police district chief.
"Pahang DAP leaves the matter to the police for investigation. Malaysia is a country that upholds the rule of law.
"No one can use their identity or any means to threaten others. No one is above the law and those who breach the law must face punishment," he said in a statement.
Lee urged people not to speculate on the matter pending the outcome of police investigation.
"The Pahang DAP committee will discuss the matter in the upcoming meeting," he said.
Loo is currently out on bail.
He was arrested after allegedly threatening the police with his government links after police attempted to seize alcohol and cigarettes sold by another DAP leader that were purportedly not properly taxed.
