Man stabbed by wife succumbs to injuries
A security guard who was stabbed by his wife while sleeping in a room on the second floor of a shop lot in Bandar Cenderawasih, Sahabat 7 near Lahat Datu on Friday, succumbed to his injuries yesterday.
Lahad Datu police chief Nasri Mansor said the 32-year old victim, who was a local and was stabbed in his stomach with a vegetable cutting knife, was confirmed dead at 5.05am at the Lahad Datu Hospital.
“Last Friday, at 7.20am, the victim, who was stabbed by his 26-year-old foreigner wife, is suspected of abusing and often beat the suspect. Besides, the victim had been two-timing the suspect since 2014.
“But it was kept secret as the suspect feared that her marriage would collapse,” he said in a statement today.
Nasri said the victim also never financially contributed to the suspect and their six children.
“Unable to control her emotions and anger, the suspect stabbed the victim in the right side of his abdomen using the vegetable cutting knife,” he said, adding that the man managed to pull out the knife from his stomach and fled to a nearby clinic for treatment.
“Meanwhile, the woman threw the knife out of a window and was hiding in their rented room before she was arrested by police on the same day of the incident,” he said.
The woman was taken to the Cenderawasih police station for further action.
