Wisma Putra condemns attack on Saudi Arabian airport
Malaysia strongly condemned the missile attack on the Abha International Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia’s Asir Province on Wednesday, which left 26 people injured.
The Foreign Ministry in a statement issued yesterday said the attack was an unacceptable violation of international law and detrimental to the peace and security of the Middle East.
"Malaysia offers its deepest sympathy to the injured victims… as a peace-loving nation, Malaysia strongly urges all parties to exercise utmost restraint and hopes that the ongoing conflict in the region will be resolved through dialogue and diplomatic channels," the ministry said.
According to the statement, to date, no Malaysian was reported to be affected by the incident.
The projectile fired by Houthi militia early on Wednesday morning hit the arrival hall at Abha International Airport, with a total of 26 civilian passengers of different nationalities injured, including three women (Yemeni, Indian, Saudi) and two Saudi children.
