US singer: I was detained in 'living hell' for five days
US singer Maggie Lindemann has taken to social media to relate that she was arrested midway through her Malaysian show in Kuala Lumpur on June 21.
She claimed she was detained for five days in a place which she described as "living hell".
"I want to start off by saying I'm sorry to the fans that came out to the show on the 21st.
"For reasons I can't go into right now, I was detained and arrested midway through my set and spent the next five days confined in a living hell," she said on both Twitter and Instagram yesterday.
"I have been advised not to say more at this time," she said.
The 20-year-old singer-songwriter, however, did not disclose the reason over her arrest during her show at The Bee in Publika, Kuala Lumpur.
It was reported that she is back in the US.

She has reportedly cancelled her debut show in Singapore on June 24, citing unforeseen circumstances.
Meanwhile, KL Immigration Department director Hamidi Adam confirmed the singer's detention at a shopping mall last month.
"She was arrested for not having a professional visit pass at the time of the performance," he was quoted as saying by The Star.
However, Hamidi said the singer was released on bail the following day.
He added that the permit agent was fined RM30,000 for not having a proper permit.
