MACC trawling for big fish in Sarawak

MACC chief commissioner Latheefa Koya (photo, above) has confirmed that the commission is investigating high profile personalities in Sarawak.

According to the Borneo Post, Latheefa, however, could not reveal details as it would affect investigations.

Latheefa said this while on an official visit to the Teachers' Training Institute in Kuching.

Previously, Sarawak MACC head Razim Mohd Noor said multiple high profile individuals were being investigated.

In 2015, the MACC launched "Ops Gergaji", freezing many accounts belonging to logging companies.

Among those investigated were former state assistant minister Daud Abdul Rahman. He passed away in 2017.

Since then, no one was prosecuted.
