I rather go to a psychiatric hospital than hell - Hamidah rebuts Dr M
Parti Bumiputera Perkasa Malaysia (Putra) vice president Hamidah Osman said she would rather be admitted to a psychiatric hospital than go to hell.
This was after Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said those who suggested that Bersatu was conceived by DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang, including Hamidah and former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, had better admit themselves to the Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta in Tanjung Rambutan, psychiatric care facility.
"My opinion is that it is better to go Tanjung Rambutan than to go to hell for lying to my race, religion and country.
"I am unwilling to lie to the people and victimise my race for my self-interest," Hamidah said in a Facebook post.
Yesterday, Mahathir sarcastically responded to the claim, stating: "Yes, Kit Siang held a meeting and all Malay leaders agreed to it. If you (reporters) want to believe that, go ahead".
“Don’t think that Malays can’t think," added Mahathir, who is also Bersatu chairperson.
Hamidah, in her post today, thanked Mahathir, claiming the sarcastic response was an "admission".
"I would like to thank Mahathir because finally, he admits that it was Lim who suggested setting up of another Malay party so that it could attract 10 percent of Umno's votes.
"But I am puzzled that after the admission, Mahathir suggested that Najib and I go to Tanjung Rambutan," she said.
