Axe DAP, PAS-Umno will back Harapan in S'gor - PAS Youth leader
PAS Youth deputy chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari has called on Selangor assemblypersons to kick DAP out of the state government.
"It would be wise for the menteri besar to take proactive steps by facing the Selangor sultan to do an exco reshuffle and get rid of all DAP members and subsequently getting rid of the Selangor state assembly speaker which is also from that party," he said in a statement today.
He added that although PAS and Umno only have a few seats in Selangor, they would be willing to support such a purge.
Ahmad Fadhli's comments come a day after Malaysiakini reported that Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari had tried to table a bill to allow for the unilateral conversion of minors in the state assembly last month.
A source had told Malaysiakini that Amirudin tried to push the bill through despite strong objections from Pakatan Harapan assemblypersons inlcuding representatives from PKR and Amanah.
Selangor state assembly speaker Ng Suee Lim reportedly ended the sitting early to prevent the menteri besar from tabling the bill.
However, Ng denied this, saying he ended the session early in accordance with the Standing Orders as all government agendas had been completed.
The episode has reportedly led to speculation that Amirudin's supporters were behind efforts to get rid of the speaker.
This comes amid other remours that efforts were also being made to oust the menteri besar.
Ahmad Fadli said efforts to purge DAP from Selangor, which he dubbed the "Sekinchan move" after Ng's state seat, could be the start of the end for Harapan.
