CIMB assures customers’ data intact after technical glitch

CIMB Bank has clarified that its core banking systems and customer data remain intact following technical issues which affected some of its systems today.

It also claimed that CIMB Bank Bhd and CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd has since rectified technical difficulties which plagued several systems, including the bank's online credit card transactions.

“Our core banking system and customer data remain intact. Customers are still able to perform banking transactions via our CIMB Clicks, CIMB BizChannel and Self Service Terminals,” it said in a statement.

Customers have gone online on social media to express frustrations with the banking system after experience difficulties, including one company which was unable to pay staff salaries.

Earlier today, Malaysia Airlines also advised customers to use alternative payment methods due to issues with CIMB’s card payment system.
