Anwar to Zuraida: Attend regular PKR meetings, coffee and tea served
Anwar Ibrahim does not appear ready to give in to PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin's demands for a special reconciliation meeting between the party president and those disgruntled with him, stating that he could meet them instead in the many regular PKR meetings which they have boycotted.
"The political bureau meeting is every Wednesday, the central leadership council meeting is every month.
"Respectfully, all are welcome to attend. Tea and coffee are served," he told journalists when asked to respond to Zuraida's statement after attending a Malaysia Day event in Kota Belud, Sabah.
Yesterday, Zuraida had said that there would be no reconciliation between the feuding factions unless Anwar agreed to the special meeting.
The faction aligned with PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali has boycotted formal PKR meetings chaired by Anwar amid a widening rift between both leaders.
This is amid sex video allegations against Azmin, which his faction had indirectly claimed were linked to Anwar. The PKR president has denied any role in the scandal.
Among Azmin's loyalists are Zuraida and Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.
