Kangar police chief files report against Suaram executive director

Kangar police chief Wari Kiew has filed a report against Suaram executive director Sevan Doraisamy for defamation yesterday.

This followed Suaram's media conference earlier yesterday where Sevan alleged that the police had wrongfully detained and tortured a father and son in the district last month.

"I lodged the report so he could be probed under Section 500 of the penal code for defamation and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act...
