Cops appear before parliamentary committee to explain Sosma use
The Special Select Committee on Defence and Home Affairs has summoned the police to explain their continued use of the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma), despite Pakatan Harapan’s pledge to abolish draconian provisions in the Act.
According to committee member Lim Lip Eng, who is also the Kepong MP, representatives from Bukit Aman, the Home Ministry and Attorney-General's Chambers attended a closed-door meeting yesterday.
