1. Apart from Bersatu's Karmaine Sardini and MCA's Wee Jeck Seng, four other candidates will vie for the Tanjung Piai seat in a by-election, namely Berjasa's Badhrulhisham Abdul Aziz, Gerakan's Wendy Subramaniam and independent candidates Ang Chuan Lock and Faridah Aryani Abd Ghaffar.

2. Backing Bersatu's candidate, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said voters should not look at ethnicity but decide based on which candidate is clean and can deliver.

3. PAS has instructed its members to vote for MCA in Tanjung Piai over its coalition ally Berjasa.
