Gobind: Bernama and RTM undergoing reforms, no job cuts for now

UPDATED | National news agency Bernama and state-owned broadcast RTM are both undergoing reforms in the face of the changing media landscape, said Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

However, as of now, these reforms do not appear to involve job cuts, he added.

"Well, of course, we have seen how the media landscape has changed all over the world, and ... we are moving towards tech-based media which results in a great impact on the traditional print media.

"So this is the reason why there is a need for many of the traditional media houses to consider their business models, and of course at the end of the day, it comes back to commercial viability...
