Police take statement from lawyer, school following CNY deco fiasco
Police have opened an investigation into the recent case of a Selangor public school allegedly being pressured to remove its Chinese New Year decorations for fear of religious propagation.
Serdang district police chief Ismadi Borhan today said the case is being investigated under Section 505(c) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) 1998.
This, after two reports had been lodged against a letter sent to SMK Pusat Bandar Puchong 1 principal by lawyer Mohd Khairul Azam Abdul Aziz to demand the decorations be taken down....
