Papagomo gets into minor scuffle at KK airport
Blogger Papagomo was involved in a minor scuffle at the Kota Kinabalu airport today after being challenged by a group of angry Warisan supporters.
Papagomo, whose real name is Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, had angered supporters of Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal when an image of him allegedly tearing up a picture of the latter at an anti-PSS demonstration went viral.
He was in Kimanis to campaign for the BN candidate in his capacity as an Umno Youth exco member.
Umno's Mohamad Alamin was victorious by a 2,029-vote margin over Warisan's Karim Bujang.
According to a report in Free Malaysia Today, the portal's photographer Mohamed Rabbani Jamian witnessed the incident in which a group of 20 men approached Papagomo (below) and his group, who were clad in BN uniforms.
There was an exchange of vulgar words and a brief scuffle before Papagomo was escorted to the departure gates.
In February 2019, Papagomo was detained by police following a police report by Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman alleging that he had been assaulted during nominations for the Semenyih by-elections.
He was also arrested in November 2018 following an allegedly inflammatory video posted on his Facebook page.
In December 2017, he paid PKR president Anwar Ibrahim RM951,260.30 after losing a defamation suit to the latter.
