Muhyiddin clocks in at Putrajaya as prime minister

Muhyiddin Yassin has clocked in to begin his service as Malaysia's eighth Prime Minister today.

He entered the Prime Minister's Office at 8am to begin his official function as prime minister, according to Bernama.

Muhyiddin was greeted by Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali before being taken to Level 5, which houses the prime minister's office.

Before entering the office, Muhyiddin scanned his time card and received prayers.

After entering his office, he signed a welcome book and was on duty.

Muhyiddin, 72, took his oath of office as the eighth Prime Minister before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah at the Royal Palace yesterday.

Sultan Abdullah granted Muhyiddin's appointment in accordance with Article 40 (2) (a) and Article 43 (2) (a) of the Federal Constitution.

On his first day, Muhyiddin had an appointment with Mohd Zuki, Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador, and Armed Forces Chief General Affendi Buang.
