Speaker on March 9 Parliament sitting: No delays over Covid-19

Dewan Rakyat Speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof said the next Dewan Rakyat sitting scheduled for March 9 will not be postponed over the novel coronavirus outbreak (Covid-19).

This comes after it was reported last night that a former minister and deputy minister came into contact with a Covid-19 patient, referred to as Case 26, on Feb 27.

“(Delay over) Covid-19? No,” Mohamad Ariff said to reporters after he attended the launch for the book Malaysian Parliamentary Procedure: A Guide to the Standing Orders of the Dewan Rakyat at the Parliament building tonight.

Both the former minister and deputy minister have since been tested for the disease and the results have come back negative....
