This article is 4 years old

Labuan Member of Parliament Rozman Isli today announced his resignation as Labuan Corporation advisory council chairperson with immediate effect.

He said four others who also resigned as members of the Labuan Corporation Advisory Council were Labuan PKR divisional chief cum Sabah PKR Information chief Simsudin Sidek; Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) Labuan division vice-chief Noor Halim Zaini, Labuan DAP secretary Wong Kwan Kit and Labuan Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) member Dr Ramli Tahir.

In a press conference here today, Rozman, who is also Labuan Warisan division chief, said their resignation was due to the current political developments in the country.

“Our resignation is based on the following, we are the top leadership in Labuan for political parties currently in the opposition bloc and the post of advisory council is not involved in administrative operations, therefore, it (the resignations) does not disrupt the government's services and administration.

"As such, we are of the opinion that members of the Labuan Corporation Advisory Council should be filled by representatives from the ruling component parties," he said. - Bernama
