Six sworn in as senators before assuming cabinet posts
Six new senators were sworn in at the Dewan Negara today following their appointments as ministers or deputy ministers in Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's cabinet yesterday.
The swearing-in ceremony took place before Dewan Negara president SA Vigneswaran at the Parliament building.
The six included Federal Territories mufti Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, who was appointed as minister in the Prime Minister's Department (religious affairs) and CIMB Group Holdings Bhd CEO Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz (finance minister).
The others were MCA deputy president Dr Mah Hang Soon (deputy education minister I); MCA vice-president Lim Ban Hong (deputy international trade and industry minister); BN executive secretary Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad (deputy environment minister); and Armada International Relations Bureau chairperson Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal (deputy youth and sports minister).
