PN must focus on restoring foreign investors' confidence – Tuan Ibrahim
The Perikatan Nasional (PN) government must focus its efforts on attracting foreign investments back into the country, said PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
"The focus of this coalition in terms of the economic factor is to convince foreign investors (to return).
"It must also focus on restoring peace and harmony (in the country)," he added in a Facebook posting today.
The newly-minted environment minister said the new cabinet line-up must also prove to be better than the previous Pakatan Harapan government.
With the country now under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, Tuan Ibrahim (pictured above) is confident that PN is capable of having a better result than the previous Harapan administration.
The Harapan government was plunged into crisis when Bersatu, led by Muhyiddin and PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, together with a group of PKR lawmakers, quit the then ruling coalition.
In the ensuing numbers game between former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad and PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, Muhyiddinemerged as the dark horse after securing the support of PAS, Umno, GPS and Azmin's faction to form the new PN coalition.
On March 1, Muhyiddin was sworn in as the eighth prime minister.
Yesterday, Muhyiddin unveiled his line-up of 31 ministers and 38 deputies. All were sworn in today. No deputy prime minister has been named.
