CORONAVIRUS | Malaysia's Covid-19 cases have reached 900 following 110 new infections recorded today, according to Health Minister Adham Baba.

This marks the fifth consecutive day the country has recorded more than 100 cases in a single day.

Of the 110 new cases, 63 have been traced back to the cluster of infections from a religious gathering in Seri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, which took place from Feb 27 to March 1.

"I wish to inform there are 20 Covid-19 patients who are being treated in the intensive care unit and require breathing aid," Adham told a press conference in Putrajaya this evening.

Yesterday, the Health Ministry said 15 people were placed on ventilators.

In a related development, Adham said 15 more people have fully recovered and have been allowed to return home.

This brings the total number of people who have recovered and discharged to 75.

Adham reiterated that the people must comply with the movement control order.

Under the order, Malaysians are not allowed to leave the country and foreigner are not allowed to enter.

All non-essential businesses have also been ordered to close and Malaysians are told to stay home except for unavoidable reasons such as the need to replenish food supplies.

Adham urged Malaysians to practice a healthy lifestyle within the confines of their homes and to ensure the food they consume are not expired.
