CORONAVIRUS | The death toll for Covid-19 is now at 10.

The 10th death was Patient 259, a 74-year-old man in Penang from the tabligh cluster who passed away at 4pm today.

This is the sixth death from that cluster.

A ninth Malaysian, a 48-year-old medical doctor, also died earlier today.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there are 123 new cases as of 12pm today, bringing the total number of cases up to 1,306.

This is the eighth consecutive day that cases have gone up by three digits.

Of the new cases, 74 are linked to the tabligh gathering in Kuala Lumpur late last month, while 49 others are from different clusters that are still being investigated.

Currently, there are 46 patients in ICU, of which there are 22 who need breathing assistance.

A total of 460 healthcare workers have also been tested for the virus, of which 270 tested negative, and 190 are awaiting results.

Noor Hisham said the Health Ministry has provided mental health services and psychosocial support for the ministry's health workers, their families and those who are emotionally affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, 25 patients have been cured of the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 139.
